Hostel story
This hostel is named after Silas Roberts who was a member of the Alewa Tribe and a well-known leader in the Northern Territory.
He held a variety of positions including First Chairman of the Northern Land Council, Territory Aboriginal magistrate, President of the Malingrida Process Association and was a member of the Northern Legal Aid Services and Aged Persons Homes Trust.
