Kabayji Booroo is a name derived from the local ‘Nyikina’ language group.  Kabayji means ‘Grandmother’ and Booroo means ‘place’.  Hence the English translation of ‘Grandmother’s place’.

AHL acknowledges the Nyikina People as the traditional owners of the land on which we operate the hostel. AHL pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
